MOUNTAINS, RIVERS AND VALLEYS
The Sannio is a geographical region of central-southern Italy, including Abruzzo, Molise, Campania, Lucania and Puglia, with a past rich in history and inhabited by the Samnites, legendary people among the most feared by the Romans with which they will face several times, (the Samnite wars) for the dominion of southern Italy.
The traces left by the Romans throughout the territory are noteworthy demonstrating that the region, due to its climatic and geographical features, lent itself to accommodate the settlements, so much so that over the centuries several foreign dominations have alternated.
From here pass Longobards, Normans, Swabians and Angevins: buildings, villages, rock caves are signs of splendor and of ups and downs, of wealth and splendor, as well as famines and difficult periods.
Streets, bridges, buildings and sacred monuments, today's houses rise in the same places of the past.
As the mountain melts towards the plain, so man is confused with nature and with his own past. This is a land to travel and to live, slowly. Two thousand years of history are breathed in its valleys.
Currently, we mean for Sannio Benevento that part of the ancient territory now falling in the Province of Benevento but that also touches a slice of the high Casertano. Almost equidistant from the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Adriatic Sea, the territory is mainly hilly, with some important peaks, furrowed by rivers and valleys, has a strong agricultural vocation that is expressed mainly in the vine and in the olive grove and pasture.
These rural traditions have been conserved over time, even though they are innovating in the procedures to search for a constant quality of products, and today they represent the best guarantee of genuineness and goodness for the consumer.
On these lands we continue to breed our cattle and from these lush pastures comes fresh milk that is daily processed to grow in a healthy way the ``new gladiators``.
